BADU @ RADIO CITY.

A few days ago, I got to witness Erykah Badu at Radio City Music Hall. This is seriously one of the best venues to watch live music. Every seat feels close to the stage, the seating is mad comfy, the setting is just beautiful...it's almost perfect. The only drawback is really lack of crowd control. I find the ushers let people walk around anytime they want. Badu is one of my favorite artists. I've seen her live at smaller venues plenty of times (SOBs, Wetlands, Bowery Ballroom, etc). So I was surprised to see her able to easily command this larger stage. She friggin' KILLED it...effortlessly. Oh and for the cherry on top, The Roots opened for her. Y'all know how good The Roots are live, right? Well, she killed THEM.
数日前、僕はラジオシティー・ミュージックホールでErykah Baduを見に行きました。この開場はライブを見るのには最高です。すべての席はステージに近く臨場感に溢れていて、シートもすごく座り心地がいいし、セッティングもきれいで。。。ほぼ完璧。ただし、観客のコントロールができていなかったのがちょっと残念でした。スタッフや係りの人はいつでも誰でも歩き回るのを許していました。Baduさんは僕のお気に入りのアーティストのひとり。もっと小さい会場（SOBs、Wetlands、Bowery Ballroomなどなど）には何度も見に行ったことがありますが、今回の大きな開場でそつなく指揮を取れていたのは驚きでした。彼女はヤバかった。それに加えて、The Rootsがオープニングを飾りました。みんなThe Rootsのライブは凄いことは知っているよね？それでも、彼女の独占でした。

"Green Eyes". She went off the deep end with this one. She did this interpretive dance set a la Alvin Ailey...she was buggin! Not too many people can pull this off and not get boo'ed off stage.
「グリーン・アイズ」　この曲では彼女はチャレンジャーでした。Alvin Ailey風の即興ダンスを披露。。。ぶっ飛んでました！このようなパフォーマンスをして、ブーイングされない人は少ないと思います。

I love that Erykah didn't really do any of the usual suspect hits. She stuck to songs that fans who bought the album would appreciate. All in all this was an amazing 3 hour show. Worth every single penny.
Erykahさんがいつものヒット曲を歌わなかったのが良かったです。アルバムを買ってくれたファンが喜ぶ曲を選びました。とにかく圧巻の3時間コンサートでした。チケット代以上のものでした。
