KANYE LIVE x 2.

A few weeks ago, I saw Kanye West perform twice in the same week. First was at his MSG stop of The Glow In The Dark Tour. And second was at the Casio G-Shock 25th Anniversary event.
何週間か前、僕は1週間にKanye Westを２回見に行きました。最初はMSGでのThe Glow in the Darkツアー。２回目はCasio G-Shock２５周年イベントで。





The MSG show was a visual mindfuck. The last time I saw a show like this was The Jackson's Victory Tour when I was at kid...and at this very same arena, too! Mr. West really brought the hip-hop live show to another level here. You cannot contest that he does not work hard for his money. He stood on stage completely solo (no hype man and/or backup dancers) for over an hour and screamed like his life depended on it. Now I see why he blogs so much. It's probably his only form of communication since his voice must be shredded. My only 2 criticisms of the show would be; 1) He deviated little from the original songs. For example, when I saw Ms. Badu perform the prior week, it was a whole different experience from the album. It wasn't merely a karaoke performance...She delivered each song uniquely. And 2) Nothing other than the Swoosh on his Air Yeezy's actually "glowed". I mean, if you're gonna call it The Glow In The Dark Tour...I would think more things would have glowed.
MSGでのショーは視覚的にやられちゃいました。最後にこんなコンサートに行ったのは子供の頃のThe Jackson'sのVictory Tourの時です。。。しかも、同じアリーナで！Westさんのショーは他のヒップホップのコンサートと次元が違います。彼は稼いでいる以上の働きをしています。たった１人でステージに立ち（取り巻きやバックダンサーは一人もいませんでした）１時間以上、魂をこめて叫び続けました。だから、彼はあんなにブログアップするんですね。 彼の声がやられてるから、ブログは彼の唯一のコミュニケーションの手段なんだろうな。僕から見て２つだけ言わせてもらうと；１）彼はもともとの歌からあまり変化が見られなかった事。たとえば、僕がこの一週間前に見たBaduさんのショーでの音楽はアルバムとまったく違って聞こえました。カラオケみたいなパフォーマンスでなく。。。彼女はそれぞれの歌をとてもユニークに歌い上げました。そして、２）彼のキックスのスウッシュ以外何も「光って」（glow)いなかった事。「暗闇に光る」ツアー（The Glow in The Dark Tour）って呼ぶぐらいなら他にもいろんなものが光ってもいいと思います。

For the Casio G-Shock 25th Anniversary Event, Mr. West held a much more private affair...and in many ways, a better one. The smaller stage just made things feel more intimate. Mind you, this was ONE NIGHT after his MSG show! That's pretty sick. Props to one of the hardest working people in the world.
見た?!光ってる！ただ、別の日だけど。
Casio G-Shock２５周年イベントでは、Westさんはもっとプライベートな雰囲気でショーをやり。。。いろんな意味でこっちのほうが良かったです。ステージが小さいほうがもっと親近感が沸きます。ただ、これはMSGのコンサートの次の日ですよ！凄すぎます。この世の働き者達にプロップスを。
